Overview

The new Embroidered Text feature utilises Web Lettering technology to display realistic embroidery simulations, and deliver accurate stitch files that are 'ready to go!'

Important Note: This article is written on the presumption that the user has a good understanding of the product creation processes and setup requirements.

THE TECHNICAL BIT:

This feature is currently compatible with ACP3.

IMPORTANT - Currently there is limited compatibility with Text Area features/options on CPP. The following features ARE compatible with Embroidered Text:

  • Input Pattern
  • Character Limit
  • Maximum Lines
  • Options
  • Force Casing
  • Move, Rotate, Resize, Multiline, Is Required

Your company account on CPP must be set to deliver EMB or DST files (this has to be set by Gateway staff - please contact support@custom-gateway.zendesk.com 

The embroidery file is delivered based on the size of the Print Area specified on the product with a maximum size of 150x150mm.

Generated stitch files for text will incur a standard rate file creation charge of £0.50 per file delivered. If several single line text areas are used within a Print Area, a single merged EMB/DST file will be delivered.  

 

What are the benefits of using Embroidered Text?

The Embroidered Text feature uses an approved Embroidered font library. This means that you not only get a great visual embroidery simulation on your product preview, but you will also receive a stitch file of the text that is 'stitch ready' - there is no need for manual adjustment because it is based on pre-approved fonts.

The font list is extensive - by default all created embroidery Text Areas come with 30 font types enabled as standard. This is only a starting point - you have access to the full approved list of 189 embroidery fonts.

I WANT IT, TELL ME HOW!

The product setup requirements are very simple. Firstly, you need to create your product with a Print Area using the conventional methods detailed in the User Guide and associated articles. At that point:

1. CREATE YOUR TEXT AREA

Add a Text Area to the product as normal. Within the Text Area settings there is a new option called 'Render Delegate'. Setting the option to 'Embroidery' triggers the Embroidered Text preview inside the ACP3 App. 

2. SET YOUR FONTS / OPTIONS

The approved Embroidery fonts will then appear in the Available Fonts list. You can select which fonts you want to be available inside the App, then set any other options, eg font colours etc...

3. GENERATE A URL AND REVIEW THE PREVIEW IN THE APP

In Smartlink Builder, select ACP3 > set your company > in step 7.eCommerce select the Unbranded Point of Sale option. This will allow you to put through test orders from the App to deliver files in Order Manager / Lite.

Open the URL add text and make sure you are happy with the preview. You can then Add to Cart to push through the test order to Order Manager Lite / Order Manager.

4. RETRIEVE THE FILE AND REVIEW

Depending on subscription type, access Order Manager Lite or full Order Manager to retrieve the order/stitch file.

You can then open the EMB/DST file in your embroidery software to ensure all is as it should be.
