How to use Transactional Emails and create emails with different language translations manually

  1. Go to your Magento Dashboard and select System > Transactional Emails
  2. Under Transactional Emails, select the + Add New Template in the top right hand corner of the screen. (Just above Reset Filter and Search
  3. Select the template you wish to create in the template dropdown menu and select the locale you wish to use also. (You must have language packs installed in your Magento system in order to use different languages. English must be selected if you do not).
  4. Once you template is selected select the load template button.
  5. You should then have your template loaded to which you need to enter a Template Name for you new email template.
  6. Within the template content you can edit the html for the content that is displayed within the email. By selecting preview template you can see the changes take effect before you save.
  7. The areas you will want to change within the html coding are as follows:
    1. img src="{{skin url="images/logo_email.gif" _area='frontend'}}"
    2. P style font (Change any text in here what you wish to display, useful for translated emails).
  1. Once completed preview your final template and click save to save the email template.
  2. To make sure you templates are for the correct store go to System > Configuration > Sales Email
  3. 10. Make sure to select the Template for Standard and Guest. You should see a dropdown of email templates created for your store. To select for your other stores, make sure you switch to that specific store view and change it to the correct translated email template.
